GUILTY Teacher has sex with student, doesn't want to stop and tries to kill her. GUILTY

How can anyone argue public schools are safe? This teacher was having sex with this sixteen year old student at his school. She tried to stop having sex with the pedophile and he tried to kill her.

BELLEVILLE, Ill. -- An ex-teacher was sentenced to 20 years in prison Friday after unapologetically admitting he tried to kill a teenager by choking her with a belt and leaving her for dead in a city park where she was found 30 hours later.

School officials have said Shelton once was a teacher at a middle school Reeves attended.

In a videotaped statement, Shelton said he was driving with Reeves -- then a Columbia High School junior -- and trying to break off their relationship April 27, 2006, when Reeves turned unruly. Shelton told authorities he and Reeves had sex once. Shelton said he pulled over, unbuckled Reeves' seat belt and tried to eject her when he heard her neck pop. Shelton said her body went limp and that he drove to a local park and carried her into a wooded area "to make it look like she got strangled there." He said he tightened his belt around her neck, then heard a gurgle followed by nothing.

Oh, so do you believe teachers should have sex with 16 year old students?

ped·o·phile (pĕd'ə-fīl', pē'də-)
n.
An adult who is sexually attracted to a child or children.

child (chīld)
n., pl. chil·dren (chĭl'drən).

A person between birth and puberty.
A person who has not attained maturity or the age of legal majority.

Learn the definitions of words before you speak. I did not say he was convicted of being a pedophile. I said he IS a pedophile.

No I don't believe teachers should have sex with 16 year olds, in fact people shouldn't have sex until they get married.

I've been following this case from the start cause I actually knew the now-convicted Shelton...unfortunately the student made a number of bad choices leading up to this encounter...but by no means do I believe it was an accident or that he should had gotten a lighter sentence. I plan to put out a podcast with all my thoughts on the issue, but I will explore the pedophilia angle as it never came up in any of the press I read or watched. You can watch for it here -- http://stlwrestling.livejournal.com

You are doing good work, keep it up.

>In defense of a pedophile

Whoa, how is saying he wasn't charged with pedophilia a defense of his conduct??? That was a BAD assumption Sheri.

Pedophilia angle? What do you mean it never came up in press? If a grown man likes having sex with children he IS a pedophile. Do you mean the press never used the word pedophile? *shakes head* They should have.

That was perhaps a bad assumption. But let me ask you, what was your purpose in interjecting the fact he was not charged with pedophilia?

Yes, Sam Shelton WAS a pro wrestler too ironically, that's how I knew him. He was a contributor to my website before he got arrested. What was the purpose of saying he wasn't charged with pedophilia? Heck I dunno, while they reported they had a sexual relationship, they never charged him with child molestation. And yes it's true in all the news coverage I've seen or watched, they didn't refer to Shelton as a pedophile or child molester. A quick check of Illinois law on age of consent, 17 years old and if under 17 they have it at a five year difference in age, which Shelton was 26 and Ashley was either 16 or 17. If she was 16 he could had been charged with it along with the attempted murder charge he pled guilty to. Now, I got shot at by Shelton's friends who insisted the neck snap was an accident and the news media greatly misreported everything but I didn't agree with them, then they blamed the victim for doing things she shouldn't had been doing since the age of 12. Then someone pops up outta nowhere saying they're a criminal profiler and was going to write a book on the case making some claims of his own and shot at Shelton's friends....while there were questions as to his credibility too. Big mess, and it's over thankfully with justice being served.
