A teacher who sexually assaulted a pupil has been released from prison after having his sentence reduced.
Geoffrey Cassidy, 55, from Lytham, lost his job at Rossall School when he was given a nine-month jail term in January.
He admitted five counts of sexual assault, committed 30 years earlier when he befriended a 15-year-old girl at a school in Sheffield.

Last Friday, the Criminal Appeal Court ruled that the sentence was excessive and replaced it with a suspended sentence of the same length.
At the time of his arrest he was director of music at the Fleetwood school.
Cassidy will remain on the sex offenders' list for ten years.

This father is fairly upset over the handling of a school teacher by his local school authorities. The teacher allegedly added an "I'm a fag." note on his son's back. Yes, you read that right... similar to the old "kick me" notes students used to tap on each other. Now I guess teachers are joining in the fun.
The teacher was placed on suspension during an investigation which basically didn't move anywhere. Now the teacher has resigned. The school says the resignation had nothing to do with the note. The school will not give the reasons the teacher resigned. However, this teacher still has his teacher's license...... coming to a school near you soon.

Teacher exposes himself to children
A Marion County teacher is accused of exposing himself two teenager boys.
Ken Walling was arrested for lewd or lascivious exhibition. Two 14-year-old boys said he exposed himself to them at his home several times last year.
Police said Walling admitted talking to the boys about sex, but denied anything else happened.
Now, here's something I find odd. It says the teacher exposed himself to the two boys at his own home. My first thought is, "Why did the parents trust their children with this man at his home?"
But, I suppose that was faulty logic. After all, if a teacher is to be trusted with students 6 hours per day surely they are trustworthy the other few waking hours, right?

His 21-year-old defacto partner was also charged with encouraging a child 13-16 years to engage in sexual behaviour and sexual penetration of a child aged between 13 and 16.
Chesapeake police say a teacher from Greenbrier Middle School has been charged with assaulting a 12-year-old male student.

As of late....
You may have noticed I haven't posted any new articles here in a quite some time.
Honestly, it became a downer for me sorting through all the child molesters and posting the information. I came to find myself mainly adding to my blog in the morning and it really set the wrong tone for the day.
However, I will return soon in full force with more doses of "homeschool fuel". (To borrow a wonderful term from a good blogging friend.) I like to think this blog helps some understand this REALLY IS happening FAR TOO OFTEN in our school system. I believe it can help all parents: homeschooling, public schooling and private schooling alike.
By the way, if there are interested candidates for co-author for this blog I am more than willing to accept the help. Any takers? I warn you, it's heart-wrenching work.
